Dick Anderson

Dick was born and raised in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington. After witnessing the effects of war up close, in Vietnam, Dick did his post-graduate studies in international development. In 1973, he traveled to Zaire to put his learning to practice. While in Kinshasa, he met his wife, Judy. Together they embarked on a 35-year odyssey taking them to over 90 countries. Dick was Relief and Development Director with World Vision West Africa and Africa Director for World Relief for 13 years before consulting in Rwanda after the war. In 1993, along with their three children, Dick and Judy returned to their log cabin in the Northwest where they continued to work as consultants to several international NGOs. In 2005, Dick and Judy were asked to start HEAL Africa USA (www.healafrica.org); they serve as co-executive directors.
