Bryan Single
Documentary filmmaker and producer Bryan Single was born and raised in Tennessee. His creative exploration and expression began in still photography while trekking through Nepal, South America, and sub-Saharan Africa. After attending the California Institute of the Arts, in Los Angeles, Brian’s passion focused on the medium of documentary filmmaking. Brian’s recent work as a cinematographer includes “Big River Man” (2009 Sundance Award for Excellence in Cinematographer, Discovery Channel), “Students of Consequence” (Jane Goodall Institute, 2009), and “God in America” (Frontline Series, PBS, 2010). His work as a documentary Producer and Director began with “Shadows of the Sun” (2004). For his award-winning documentary, “Children of War” (2009), Bryan submerged himself in a center in war-torn northern Uganda dedicated to using creative expression to help rehabilitate and heal the country’s forgotten victims, former child soldiers.
